Love the test markup features and integration with the iOS version.

It loads fast. It scrolls fast. I can find stuff in a 2,600 page legal statute faster than anything else I’ve used. Even on the iPad Pro it’s faster. Doesn’t seem to hog memeory. The folks at Readdle seem to push out regular updates. Highy recommended.
love this app
PDF expert could be the best, perfect replacement for Acrobat if it would finally include forms creation and editing feature, promised few versions back by Readdle on their own website. Without such feature it remains a quite good replacement for Preview, but not much more. Lack of support for Adobe dynamic PDF forms doesn’t also make PDF Expert a replacement for free Adobe Reader. The speed of the reader functions alone doesn’t justify the price of the app. Please keep your promise of "free form creation and editing upgrade to all existing users”, add support for dynamic forms and you’ll deserve more than 5 stars.
It is the best pdf reader available on mac!
Early adopters get a free upgrade to a much more robust PDF editor. They said great new features were coming, and they followed through. It delivers the features I need, but still feels light and nimble - compared to Acrobat Pro. strong work.
I opened up a voluminous 3600+ page, 200mb PDF file to test just how PDF Expert was going to handle it…and…it worked FLAWLESSLY. Searching the document was a breeze. It never hung, never crashed and was always quick. Apple’s Preview struggled immensely often crashing with El Capitan. I’m still exploring the features on the OS X version, but if it’s anything like that fantastic features found on the iOS version. The “Getting Started” Guide is a super easy to read and follow along document. With the promise of rolling out more features, i’m jumping on board. I’m extremely happy with the PDF Expert for iOS and couldn’t be happier with the PDF Expert for OS X. Update: Now have version 2.0, and I am still loving this app. It’s SO EASY to extract PDF files from one document, place them in another, redact and add my signature. This is a DREAM.
More and more I’m beginning to use PDF Expert as my got to app on my MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad Pro. The interface is clean and intuitive and it works seamlessly with all devices. Readdle is constantly updating and improving it’s apps, and I’m happy to say this is one of their best. It does a lot for the price. Rarely use Acrobat anymore. Buy!
When people say macOS apps tend to be better than their PC counterparts, this is what they’re talking about. The UI is intensely fluid, the program excedingly stable, all presented in a beautiful, fast package. I can honestly say that this is one of the best applications I as a student have purchased, and I wholejeartedly recommend it to all of my peers who are looking for a comprehensive PDF reader, especally after how Apple shortchanged us with Preview in OS X 10.10.
Fast, with all the required bells and whistles.
Very fast and solid built PDF reader. This review is for version 2.0.1. Readdle introduced version 1.0 in November 2015, and stated that they would continue to add features. They have been added features rapidly and consistently since their first version, and I really like their approach to updates. The updates are frequent and rock-solid. Each new feature is well thought through and works as intended from the get-go. They have their prioritizations right: critical features are added first, and then more sophisticated and specialized features are added as they go on. The look and feel of their PDF reader is fantastic. It is super-fast, and very reliable. Other PDF readers are either slow, heavy or cumbersome to work with, or frequently crashes. Other PDF readers pale in comparison to the build of this PDF reader. This is how a PDF reader for the Mac should be built. Their own advertisement claims it is fast, robust, and beautiful, and I totally agree! Well done! In terms of features, they have added redaction and password protection with version 2.0. I have previously used a mix of PDF readers. I used Skim for reading since it permits to set the background colour. I used Preview for merging documents and signing. I used Acrobat for some tricky files. And I used PDFpenPro for forms and OCRs. Skim’s annotations don’t work well in collaborations, Preview is feature-limited, Acrobat is slow, just awkward, and controlling, and PDFpenPro crashes all the time and seems to have a soup of a codebase. PDFpenPro is like built by spaghetti code. PDF Expert has the nicest feel over all of these alternatives and it is rock solid. I am continuing replacing all these alternatives with PDF Expert. I keep looking forward to Readdle continuing adding features to it. The direction and quality of the product is excellent. Finally a PDF reader for the Mac that is fun and pleasant to use.
This app is overpriced but works really well. It works better than Preview and Adobe pdf. It’s compact, and robust. Well built all around. They have added great features
Wonderful program. I use it everyday for everything. It’s good on the computer and the tablet, and even the phone! So many ways to mark up a PDF but still clean layout.
I rely on this daily to open very large (>3000 page) PDF docments, frequently scrolling through these documents. The editing features are very useful. Support from the company has been impressive - emails are always promptly answered and problems are trouble-shooted. They are also very receptive to feature requests. I would not hesitate to recommend this program if you are a heavy user of PDFs - especially since the built in software in OSX seems to develop a memory leak and thus it was what lead me to this program. Keep it up.
Perfect app for college students
plz support to use the apple pencil. hand writing.
It’s really useful if you use PDFs everyday.
Annotation 機能の豊富さと、その使いやすさが気に入っています。Preview でも出来る部分はありますが、Preview で付けたハイライトなどが、他のPDFリーダーで崩れることがあるので、こちらの方をよく使っています。
I found copy and paste of images no longer works after the upgrade to this version (on Mac 10.11.16 El Capitan). For example, I select an image in PDF opened in PDF Expert 2 and paste to Microsoft OneNote does not paste the image but prints some temporary pdf file path (an example below): /var/folders/f2/2d7h5_8s4bqflv0b_s7cm9t80000gn/T/com.readdle.PDFExpert-Mac/.pdfExpertClipboard.pdf I’d imagine this is actually a temporary PDF file generated for the image to be pasted but PDF Expert 2 does not paste the image but the path of it... This was working before upgrading to the latest version. Is this a bug? (must be) Any work around? (I hope) Please let me know.
This is amazing. I am using with Macbook 2015 and it is really fast on rendering...
