PDF Expert – Edit, Sign PDFs App Reviews

I have used a number of different PDF editors, and I just find this one to be the easist to use. It does not make me jump through hoops to learn strange new ways of doing things. It always seems to be intuitive. I can jump in to get a form filled out, signed, and sent. I really appreciate a software that can do that.

Terrific interface. Only lacking ability to reduce file size. Otherwise, vastly superior to Acrobat.

PDF expert is a great app. I enjoyed it so much on my iPad that I added to my MacBook Pro. It works great and does everything I need it to do.

One of the most useful apps I have purchased in a long time. Puts Adobes own PDF software to shame in so many ways. Fast and easy to use. Easily 5 stars. Readdle is doing some great work! Their email app Spark for iOS is another exampe of thier tallent. Best email app on iOS!

Very pleased with PDF Expert 2. I’m an inveterate reader and note-taker — I read with a pencil in my hand. PDF Expert allows me, through underlining, highlighting, and adding notes (and even custom stamps), to turn digitized articles and manuals into a visual précis. I learn the material while creating these, and each resulting annotated document serves as an effective resource when I need to review. PDF Expert 2 is deft, easy on the eyes, and seems dedicated to _my needs_ (and not the needs of the programer or the OS). When I use it, it works and requires no care. I can think of no higher praise for software. Thanks and kudos to those who crafted it.

I now rely 100% on PDF Expert to read, access and annotate all my PDF documents regardless of size, on my Mac, iPad Pro and iPhone - seamlessly synced over iCloud. It’s aboslutely brilliant and has dramatically improved my productivity and I can use my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil to read PDF’s just like I used to mark up regural paper and books. Fantastic! Thank you Readdle! The entire Readdle suite is excellent.

I have been using PDF Expert for both Mac and iOS now consistently for the past 6 months. I have found these apps to fit my needs well - for annotating and taking notes, for reading, reference, and extracting information from books and articles for presentations, and for easily signing documents. With iCloud syncing it works very well - syncing to dropbox takes some effort and is not the most intuitive, but I find it easier to keep clean copies of my PDFs in Dropbox and the edited versions in iCloud. As for features, there aren’t many more I would ask for - the biggest one so far would be to be able to crop all pages in succession the same way in a single document, but otherwise base functionality serves very well. While text recognition and more advanced acrobat features would also be nice to see in future updates, those are not missed the vast majority of the time. Overall its a good product and definitely my new goto PDF application.

I have not used very many .pdf editors. However, this one, although a little pricey, is the best one that I’ve used. It has many different tools for the many different needs one might have for editing, annotating, redacting, signing and manipulating a .pdf document. Get it for your editing needs.

I super love the Window&Tab feature, which not only allows me to read many files in one window, also allows me to have many windows opened. This is exactly what I need. It’s fast, and have better memory management than Preview.app, since Preview.app easily consumes seveal GB memory after a few pinch-zoom actions, and then crashs. Great job! Many thanks!

This app has been one of the very best I have used. Every day I use this and am very pleased with the flexibility it provides in dealing with all of the documents I have to deal with on a daily basis. Editing and then saving documents could not be easier.

The app is super functional and very intuitive. Docking 1 star because it does not yet have OCR capability, which is somewhat frustrating considering Readdle has a scanning app that does have OCR capability. Hopefully that function comes to PDF Expert soon...

It’s the app I use on my iPad as well as my Mac. Works like a charm every time.

As a full time college student, I’m constantly trying to find ways to be more efficient in my note taking. I huge issue I had prior to discovering this app, was trying to write on the power-points, so i’d convert them to pages, once in pages i’d still have a difficult time formatting the additional text I wanted to add, since it was pre formatted based on how the professor did it. I spent more time in class formatting and converting power-points than I did paying attention to lecture. One day I came across this app and utilized the free trial, and I was in love! It saves me HOURS each week. I not only have it on my laptop, but also my iPad and iPhone, and everything connects through the cloud. Of course nothing is perfect, but pretty close! -Also a very useful app for those who struggle with ADD. While reading, you’re able to annotate, make notes, and really involve yourself in each page, making it easier to focus, and continue to be interested. -I love that the app on the iPad reads to me. While driving i have my assigned readings that I converted to PDF’s and listen to them. This saves so much time! A few suggestions to the programmers of this app: -It would be nice to have the text to speak feature available on all platforms, it’s currently only available on iPads. -The cost is pretty outrageous. If there was some sort of student discount, you guys would make a killing. I understand it’s importance in the business world. But for students, they aren’t able to afford this. I’ve mentioned this app to nearly two dozen students and not one will purchase it because of it’s cost. I was only able to purchase it because I had a $50 iTunes gift card, and only paid $9.99 for it after that. Otherwise there is no way I would have purchased it. -I forget which one it is, but either the iPhone or iPad app is only $9.99 i believe, and that’s very reasonable, I’m wondering why it’s so cheap on those platforms but not on the computer?

Acrobat has switched its model to a yearly subscription and it’s a hefty price. I had bought version 9 when I was a student so it was discounted but it was only licensed for my old Mac which recently died. Before buying from Adobe again, I read the reviews for this alternative: PDF Expert. Certainly it is a much lighter app that doesn’t take as many resources but it is still capable of doing as much as Acrobat can. And the pricing is way more reasonable (I got it when it was the Editor’s choice here in the App Store, so I paid ~$20). I am still in a somewhat academic field so I use it to work on academic papers that I have to read. Plus rearranging forms, merging, converting other documents to forms, highlighting, annotating, signing, protecting PDFs, etc. There is no loss of quality. You can also install an iOS version (which I haven’t yet). All in all, a great app at a fraction of a price and it won’t take as much space from your hard drive. It is stable and works great on my Mac Mini (2012) and my MacBook Pro (2015). No regrets.

I’m serious! I struggle with ADHD and the ability to carefully go through graduate school papers and highlight and underline the text in many colors has been life changing! App has never crashed on me - I’m still using other apps for OCR - I have been using a certain app for years so it’s a normal part of my work flow - so i cant judge our in this app - nor do I even know if it has OCR… But for marknig up pdf files - this app is stellar!!

Very good integration with the Mac, iPad and iPhone. Essential for pdf work.

Please support left and right split view (at least let us choose). Moreover, split view should also work for different files. Single file split view is useless.

PDF Expert’s speed is amazing! I can open massive documents and navigate with no problem. I have been a long time user on iOS, but am so happy it’s on the Mac. Awesome! The new feature where I can view different parts of the same document at the same time is tremendously helpful.
